Apple is expected to release the first beta of iOS 18 to developers next week, according to 9to5Mac. The new update is said to include a number of new features, including a redesigned lock screen, new widgets, and an updated Messages app.

One of the most anticipated features in iOS 18 is the redesigned lock screen. The new lock screen is said to be more customizable, with users able to add widgets and change the font and color of the clock. There are also rumors that Apple will finally allow users to use third-party apps on the lock screen.

Another major feature in iOS 18 is the new widgets. Widgets are small apps that can be placed on the home screen or in the Today View. In iOS 18, widgets are said to be getting a redesign, with new sizes and shapes available. There are also rumors that Apple will allow users to stack widgets on top of each other.

The Messages app is also getting a number of updates in iOS 18. One of the most significant changes is the addition of support for RCS (Rich Communication Services). RCS is a new messaging standard that will allow users to send and receive high-quality messages, photos, and videos over Wi-Fi or cellular data. RCS is also expected to bring a number of other features to the Messages app, such as read receipts and typing indicators.

In addition to these major features, iOS 18 is also expected to include a number of other smaller changes and improvements. These include a new Focus mode that will allow users to filter out notifications based on their current activity, a new Health app that will track menstrual cycles, and a new Maps app that will include support for augmented reality directions.
